Disaster Friendly Water and Sanitation
A joint initiative from Dhaka Ahsania Mission and Concern Universal Bangladesh
Disaster Friendly Water and Sanitation concept and technologies intend to provide disaster resilient functional water and sanitation facilities allowing people to have continuous access to the facilities during and after disaster. The facilities are developed in a way to make them friendly in use especially during disaster. They also contribute all the time and during disasters and post-disasters to limit the spread of diseases due to contaminated water and lack of sanitation facilities.
With the view to promote the concept of and technologies on Disaster Friendly Water and Sanitation and to disseminate the learning to other sector stakeholders, Dhaka Ahsania Mission and Concern Universal Bangladesh initiates two projects named by Disaster Risk Reduction (WatSan) and Vulnerability Mapping and WatSan Component (VMWC) in Mymensingh, Pataukhali, Kurigram and Bhola district.
